John’s son, Eric,  joined us for a three-week journey around Costa Rica. It’s a country that could teach on the rest of us a lesson: a country can gain prosperity by preserving and exhibiting its forests and animals rather than displacing or destroying them. The country’s prosperity isn’t harmed by its lack of a military to spend its budget on.  We spent a short time in Nicaragua, which was poorer but livelier.
