Agape is an American religious foundation that works to rescue and rehabilitate children living on the streets. Agape workers bring street children back to Agape where they are fed and schooled The workers also find out a child’s extended family and work to have someone agree to house and support the child. Within three months most of the children are back in a home, better equipped to deal with the often-harsh facts of Kenyan life, and enrolled in school if they are old enough.
Computers Needed
The technical heads of Agape, Jonathan and Andrea Dowell, are computer technical experts who rehabilitate older computers and make them available to their young charges. Computer knowledge helps the kids catch up in school, and equips them to find jobs later The Dowells are appealing to any who might donate a computer they no longer need. The Dowells will be visiting the U.S. in the summer of 2017 and would love to take some computers back to Kenya with them. (They don’t need peripherals or other equipment such as printers or phones, just computers, Jonathan says.). If you can contribute, email John Francis johnfrancis757@gmail.com to arrange a pickup.
